The ApartmentsEach studio suite at the John Bertram House is unique in size and shape, but all have the feel of home once furnished by the residents own belongings. The suites are beautifully appointed with neutral colors, wall to wall carpeting, linen window treatments, and a spacious closet. Residents enjoy the comforts of a private bathroom, an emergency alert system, and a kitchenette. Telephone, cable, and WI-FI services are also available. John Bertram House residents can enjoy the privacy of their suite or invite a neighbor in for a visit! |

The Dining RoomAdded to the John Bertram House when the building was a private home what is now the Dining Room served as a grand ballroom. With fourteen foot ceilings, sculpted crown molding, and views of the Salem Common Residents enjoy meals and companionship in this elegant, sun-filled room. Tables are graced with linens and full service placements. The Dining Room also features an upright piano that several Residents play for the enjoyment of all. |

Living RoomDetailed Woodwork and an Oriental Rug enhance this large room transforming it to a warm and welcoming spot. Whether Residents are enjoying a cozy afternoon by the gas fireplace, a Fall Football Pizza Party on the big screen television, or a monthly Resident Council Meeting the Living Room is magnificant in its décor and variety of uses. |

The KitchenAs in many homes the Kitchen is truly the Heart of John Bertram House. Granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances provide a backdrop for a casual atmosphere of good conversation and good food. Combining the tables provides a large working surface for our weekly Craft Club. Residents can always find a staff member, a cup of tea, or a late breakfast in the Kitchen. |

The CourtyardNewly renovated during the Summer of 2010 the Courtyard is filled with surprises. The oversized deck hosts Sunbathers and “Refreshments on the Deck”. The wildflower garden created by an array of unusual flowers and birdhouses attracts bird and butterflies. The granite and brick ramp provides access to the main door and a breathtaking view of perinnal plants in constant bloom. The Courtyard is an outside living area for the Residents almost three-seasons of the year. |

The LibraryLined with panelling and both picture and chair rails this fireplaced room is located in the center of the Home. Bookshelves with classics, large-print books, and new releases provide residents an alternative to going to the City library. The Library also features a Bowes music system and tapes from the Commission for the Blind. This wonderful room has cozy reading chairs and also a table for six allowing it to be transformed into a private dining room for guests. |

The SunroomFilled with light the Sunroom is a casual gathering place for Residents. Residents enjoy the daily Current Events Club and individually read the newspaper or magazines. The Sunroom also hosts Friday Cocktail Hour and Weekly Book Club. Residents also can use this room and WIFI access for internet instruction and communication with loved ones near and far. Often residents are found coming and going from the Sunroom as most of our activities and scheduled transportation outside the building originate from here. |
